From September 19 to 21, 2025, Medicina comes alive with medieval atmospheres during the historical reenactment of the Barbarossa, three days of shows, parades, markets, jugglers, and ancient traditions that transform the town into a journey through time capable of captivating thousandss of visitors.

A bit of history and legend

The festival commemorates the emperor’s visit in 1155 and the granting of the famous Imperial Charter, which ensured privileges and autonomy for Medicina.
Making the event even more enchanting is the legend of the serpent: it is said that a broth, miraculously transformed by the accidental fall of a snake, healed the emperor, who then chose to reward the town.
